Went kiting at Brighton Beach (Vic) last night - all good - parked in the normal spot on the ocean side of the road.
Went back again today and after a 10 minute wander to check conditions came back to a $144 parking fine. That you couldn't park here was news to me. Just thought I'd warn others in case this is not general knowledge (I only surfed over winter so never went anywhere near Brighton).
I managed to find the "nice man" who issued the ticket and he said new signs had been in place for about a month. No Standing 24 hours!
Bugger!
Beware!
Yep. Seems pretty much the whole of kite beach from the reef at the south to the groyne at the north is no standing zone.

**** bayside council and their couch
They keep changeing it and they catch so many of us out. Guess they realize that they are not making any money out of us, so keep changeing the goal posts to force us into the pay parking. Sorry about your fine. It is alot of money just to check the conditions. I shall be finding other beaches to kite at, and spending my money in their local comunities. Thanks for the word up.
Council are fxxxxx They just after your money Iast summer I tried to let others know Re No standing at club house end and told inspector it needs to provide signs that are clear HE stated it was Vic Roads re signs They just give parking tickets Next year they will have no standing a long the whole beach We need to complain to Vic roads??
