Happens whenever landing hard. Pad slips, rotates & the foam sides are squashed against the plastic blocks of each strap.
They're set up at max duck angle on a cabrinha caliber. Initially the left pad can only slip clockwise & the right anticlockwise.

4min 25sec in shows how the block sits on the pad base.

Not a huge problem but just started using these & looks like it will damage the foam on each side, pushing it up off the base. I loosen & adjust them back after each session.
This was never mentioned when reading reviews of these bindings. Am I the only one this is happening to? They're in good condition, barely used.
Seems like a strange design, how nothing stops it from sliding around like that. Don't get how this isn't a problem for the pros in cabrinha's videos, they're slamming down on them harder than I ever will.

Any ideas on how to stop it slipping (short of gluing the pad to the board)? Tightening anymore feels like it would strip the thread or pull the insert out. One dumb idea I had was to put a flat head screw up through the base into the plastic block then gluing a thin sheet of rubber on the base to stop it scratching the board.

Appreciate any advice, cheers.

Hey mate, had this happen to me when I had these years ago. It happens when the screws are to long and you can't tighten them all the way. Simple fix get shorter screws or cut down your current ones.

Didn't even think to check that, just assumed they were the right length. 5.5mm gap between the board & screw head when fully in. Strap block & pad base are about 6.5mm thick. 1mm mustn't be enough to clamp it down. Put some washers on instead of cutting screws shorter. Get about 4 threads in the insert now, that enough?
No wind so haven't been able to check but hopefully this stops them slipping.
Great idea ctb003, thanks.
