Happens whenever landing hard. Pad slips, rotates & the foam sides are squashed against the plastic blocks of each strap.
They're set up at max duck angle on a cabrinha caliber. Initially the left pad can only slip clockwise & the right anticlockwise.
4min 25sec in shows how the block sits on the pad base.
Hey mate, had this happen to me when I had these years ago. It happens when the screws are to long and you can't tighten them all the way. Simple fix get shorter screws or cut down your current ones.
Cheers
Didn't even think to check that, just assumed they were the right length. 5.5mm gap between the board & screw head when fully in. Strap block & pad base are about 6.5mm thick. 1mm mustn't be enough to clamp it down. Put some washers on instead of cutting screws shorter. Get about 4 threads in the insert now, that enough?
No wind so haven't been able to check but hopefully this stops them slipping.
Great idea ctb003, thanks.
