We would like to formaly announce that the PKRA World Tour will be coming to Australia in 2010. The event will be the last event on the Tour and so will crown the World Champion Male and Female Riders each year with red carpet ceremony and end of Tour celebration. The event will be held in December on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

There will be Wild Card Spots available and so watch this space as to how to qualify for your chance to compete against the best of the best !!

Please add a comment to show your support... Thanks...

Any suggestions as to how to make this event spectacular are welcomed !!!

Always got to have someone spoil our fun, I vote they hold it at woodies so the local folk can get a larger choice of items to steal!

great stuff, counting down the days!

goldy has "modest to nice" constant wind at that time of the year and the beaches and vibe at this destination will spell certain success for the event and kitesurfings profile in oz too!

as wayne said "party on"

All I want to know is whether Big Air Richo will be there. The guy rips. Doesnt unfold his kite unless its 30+.

Big Air Richo can certainly make an appearance. There will be opportunities for Wild Card spots. If you win a Wild Card then you can mix it up with the Pros and show them what we are made of in Australia.

Bobsan, why not bring the surfboard and impress with cut backs pirate style

would we be able to let the freestyle go in the currumbin alley and close it off like they close off snaper rocks for the quicky pro .

have no idears for the wave riding but their some good banks at the moment.

It would have to be Narrowneck, but since you have to be an AKSA member to kite there all the pros would have to join or else..... lol

The Coast is the tourist capital of the nation but it's not Kitesurfing City.
It's got the warmth but has it got any super hot kiting venues.
For a big event, you need the killer spot.
You need the flatwater slick...
You need the D>T>L surfbreak for the important stuff....
and you need wind.
Party on.

What do you think all the shiz with the local boys is over, they want to keep it a secret!
Oh I forgot about all the strip clubs just walking distance down the road....
Dam now I told everyone they will run me out of town lol

Gold Coast is the perfect venue for the last event on the tour. Gold Coast has it all. Great conditions, great locations and as th events capital of Australia it will certainly step up to put on a fantastic post tour celebration. .

For sure Rosy...
In fact the event will run over 9 days within a 14 day window.

Make sure you try and get one of the Wild Card Spots!

We are negotiating with accomodation and travel partners now to arrange for cheap flights and accomodation for spectators. We will keep you posted on the deals that are on offer. The event will of course be free to the public. And we hope to put on some events for kitesurfers not on the PKRA Tour, so that you dont get bored on the beach!
