I don't have have a clue what's gone on to get to this situation but there's going to be one very shame faced kiter and one very lucky to be alive surfer at the end of it.
by looks of the way that kite is directed, the kiter looks like hes right in the brake zone. unlucky
Think that surfer needs to go to Specsavers , how the hell could he not see that , he's just lucky the lines didn't cut him in half

Looks like the surfer aimed straight for it , I dont surf but im sure they can turn .

There is another video of a similar thing somewhere on the internet. Same kite. Maybe its just from another angle. Can you imagine where the kite rider would be, bobbing just praying like hell that a gust will relaunch his kite. The edge dont relaunch to well huh ? :)

If he turns to go down wind of the kiter he either gets taken out by the wave or the lines and he obviously tries to go upwind but can't and stay on the wave, and looks like he can't bail off the wave without it taking him either. I don't surf but I agree with austin, if faced with taking ut a kite or possibly drowning, I choose the kite everyday.
