I got a a 7m sport with no bar and lines, so I'm using the set off my 11m. That's 25m lines and 60cm bar, when moving the kite from overhead it seems to fall for a bit before it catches the wind, then speeds pretty far out in front (way further than the 11). Would this be because of the line/bar length? Is it worth dishing out for a smaller bar and lines....?

I didn't know they still made 60cm bars especially for an 11. That would feel stupid on a 7.

It shouldn't make the kite shoot forward and stuff but it will make it feel stupidly twitchy

Which one are we talking about? The original 2007 Sport? I'll assume we are.
The 7m of that year is a great kite. Still one of my favourites. So stable. I think the strut diameters were a bit too small on the Sport2.
The line lengths should be the same on your 60 cm bar, but there is more throw (longer travel on the chickenloop line). It sounds like you want more rear line tension.
The 2008 bar is a big improvement, the steering line trimmers work well, and the front line flagging system is neater. Get a 2008 50cm bar. Well worth it. The 11 will fly fine on it too, just with a bit smaller wind range.

Both 2008 models. even fully sheeted in it was doing it too though... maybe i'll have to get the smaller bar...

If they are both 2008, then the 60cm bar will work but like keahi said it will make the kite too twitchy/sensitive.
Get the smaller bar, it will solve your problem, assuming nothing else is wrong with the kite. KP Geelong can help you with parts and spares, or try SHQ in Melb.

just cut your 60cm bar down and use it for both kites. no need to buy another set.

i use the one 40 cm bar for all my kites from 7m to 15m with no problems

How do you cut it down? Probably a stupid question.....

measure the total bar length and work out how much has to come off

unscrew the screws or drill out the rivets out of the bar ends and pull them out. you might need to use a bench vice if there is glue or sealant holding them

carefully measure the same distance from the centre of the bar to the end

cut the bar at each end

reattach the end pieces making sure they are parallel to each other and the centre hole

Thanks for the help. I'll give that a go, see how it works.
Cheers
