There are a multitude of LW boards out there.

Used to have the standard Bronq. Not as good as my Radical5.

Only interested in user opinions of the Axis Ultra. But thanks.

I'd stay away from Axis, I've had two surfboards from them and both developed major faults within a few sessions. Tried to contact Axis a few times and never heard anything back, luckily the shop I bought them from were a great help. I can't comment on their TT quality though.

Agreed, Axis customer service is crap. I have tried to contact them a number of times for more information on their boards and they have never bothered to get back in touch with them.

That said, I have an Axis Ltd and that board is awesome.

My light wind indo fun combo edge 11 and 148 axis ultra, others out on 17s and nuggetts and I match and exceed them, extra lenghth and width makes the difference. Also do a 6' hayden shapes sb with 11 edge in same indo conditions, same same for upwind ability. I weigh in about 84 bintangs.

Got it direct from Adrian in christchurch a couple of years ago, great guy, legend, I had a few underground tts when starting out about 10 years ago, underground flx was awesome.

I use an Axis 132 vanguard at home.

Have to agree with Cauncy here. Back in the keen days I tried every light wind board out there. Chasing light wind was/is a frustrating quest. Way too possible now with foils but if you are talking Tt's for lighter days then the King Gee is the king. Only big soft light wind board I've ever ridden that doesn't make you think of kitchen doors.

would never recommend a bloke of your stature to ride the original monk, it only excells in powered conditions, ive found myself getting a bit frustrated in standard winds, but loving it in our general conditions, the bronk xl is in the same bracket as your suggestion, if shelling out a thousand dollars id be taking a good exstended demo of whats in your short list, also kite choice is another thing to look at when pairing up

Ultra topside. All carbon, very stiff, very good cushioned footpads absorb landings and chop, also fun in waves
