Everyone should be getting into this. WAKSA is doing their bit for us as a membership but we also have an opportunity for our individual opint of view to be taken into consideration. If they see 300 kiteboarders took the time to weigh in than it will go a long way.
look, waksa, mulluz user group & others are on the case, please hold back on filling the form out, if you need more info and don't understand PLEASE WAIT, pm waksa or leemings,
thanks Tony
I am from the other side of the world but from reading this survey it looks like they arent giving kiters many options. Is this the case.
Yes there is an online survey, there is also manual version, there is also a whole series of other actions and options kiters can adopt to address the issues raised by the proposed Beach Management Plan.
The local kiters MUGS and WAKSA are running an exhaustive research program on an urgent priority schedule to establish exactly what the best options are.
As 'the walks' asks please just hold off until we orchestrate an effective and positive response. Your assistance will be called on and very much required and appreciated at the correct time but until then just hold off.
There is a six week comment period. We intend to make the most of the time we have available to maximise the impact of our response.
Loose and adhoc responses from forum banter is NOT what is required.
Hi all,
Just to reiterate what was said by The Walks and WAKSA. Please do not complete the online survey yet. It is essential that the kiting community sticks together and has one united message to Joondalup City Council. We are currently working on exactly the best way forward, not only for Mullaloo, or the beaches in Joondalup shire, but as this may bee seen as a bit of a WA test case, this is important for all WA kiters. As it has been said we have until the 6th April to feedback - early feedback is not counted any more than feedback on the 6th, so if everyone can just hold fire until we have a united strategy. Once we have this we will let you all know and you can feed consistent comments back into the consultation process.
Cheers
Dave

Hey just be carefull we dont wanna ruin it for everyone guys. I have heard joondalop shire are aware of some bombarding their beach survey. This will def put us off side with the shire. I think we should get away from the fishing mob and try to move in up at Ocean reef. Less hassel more space.
everything about your post makes no sense, come and meet us at mulluz and maybe have a kite aswell, then you may want to remove it.
I think it's kind of irrelevant anyway. If the by-law does not get passed and Kitesurfers are allowed to kite relatively unrestricted it's only a matter of time before there are more incidents, more complaints and the issue gets raised again. As far as I've seen there has been very little that the Kitesurfing community has done to ingratiate themselves with other beach/ocean goers, there has been little to no self policing, there has been no acceptance or comprehension that Kiting could be possibly adversely affecting other people and I think this has been demonstrated by the opposition to this by-law and the general attitude of Kiters in and around Perth. Accept that Kiting will be restricted and be happy that you still have somewhere to Kite. The next step will be a complete banning of Kiting around the Pinnaroo, Mullaloo areas and this is not an unrealistic reality. I just don't understand why nothing was done sooner, sticking your head in the sand and hoping Kiting won't get banned or restricted then jumping up and down hysterically when it becomes a liklihood....
maybe we should ban cyclists from the road aswell.
Hey Zed and your fellow poleys on this forum,
What are your motives? You have this strange urge to hang out here after your windsurfing session knowing nothing about kitesurfing and the kite surfing community.....and never anything positive comes out of you.....only the obvious symptoms of compulsive mental behavior.....
...what's your point....you are obviously wasting your time (that you seem to have a lot of spare)
You are fighting with clear air here, because THIS FORUM DOES NOT REPRESENT THE KITESURFING COMMUNITY, only a small % of kitesurfers post here. It is WAKSA (in WA) our elected association that represents us. You have no idea what's going on in our community, because you are not part of it. So try to engrave these into your circuits, and try to be a little more intelligent....or at least a bit more entertaining...
Thanks
What I was saying is that I know for certain some of the guys have been filling in the survey at Joondalup shire web site trying to rig the vote. I know for sure that the shire are aware of this and dont look on this form of attack lightly. All Im sayinh is use ya brains and look at further north near Burns Beach etc, at least we can win that knowing that Pinnaroo is too busy now.
Riptorn, you sure you are actually a kiter and not someone masquerading as one?. Are you a bit worried that kiters might actually influence the survey? Sorry, mate, but you dont convince me!
The horsey people r pissed as well if they loose there spot they will have2 move to kwinnana beach just 2 go 4 a trot . ps ban the parking fees as well in the streets around joondalup .wot a load of bo.....s must b a pommie council team trying 2 get back wot they never gave .
You poleys shouldnt feel left out, it was also noted at the meeting that both kiters and windsurfers should both be carrying epirbs, flares and wearing lifejackets.![]()
So instead of directing energy in to "So I guess I also come here to say told you so" how about realising we are all in this together and start working cohesively.
Here we go again........I stick to my comments from previous thread...........the below is must reading for Joondalup Council and the negative people who lobby for kiting bans. It may be harsh reading on what is supposed to be a happy site, but I have real problems with government rule makers because their inability to make good decisions.
As far as I am concerned Joondalup Council is full of not to bright people who have a lot to answer for...............yes, you are morons in cushy government jobs because you know how to crawl up the right ass hole and respond to the hysterical minority in the community.
For one, how could you have allowed the real estate development in your Shire to proceed over the years as you have? Many suburbs north of the river (and south now too) are quick buck chop chop developments with absolutely no thought to the future. We have a northern coast full of MacMansions with little to no trees, house next to house, with wrong orientation for climate so they need air con and heating. Joondalup Council has helped developers create the future ghettos of Perth. Just wait until the "boom" runs its course......and it will eventually (10-15 yrs). The Council is owned by the developers who are driven by their greed for the quick buck.............you sad kn lot!
And second, don't you Council people have a hell of a lot more important things to be dealing with than what is going on at the beach......like the crime and bored youth that is rampant in your Council..........or is that in the kn too hard basket for y'all?
Many people today are mortgaged to the limit and perhaps there is no money for kites..........because you know the kids want to do it and are pestering (the hysterical minority). So the easy solution for mom, is to complain about kiters. Why can't their kids be happy with what they did like surf life saving and swimming. No, let the kids be bored, take drugs, rob people and roam the suburbs in sad mini gangs.......emulating the hood in LA.
Councils and organisations by nature want to create more rules so that they can increase their power and justify larger budgets to hire the people to enforce the new rules.........and of course they hire people dumber than themselves so they are never challenged.
Joondalup Council, is packed with nit wits and surely whatever they do will not be followed by other councils in Australia because everyone is not as stupid as they are.........or are they?
