Does anyone know why there is usually such a big "recorded windspeed" difference with the graph read-outs between Swanbourne and Ocean Reef (WA Metro) when there is only 20 km's distance between them? According to the graphs Swanbourne always seems to be at least 5-10 knots lighter than Ocean Reef during a typical seabreeze.
Swanbourne is always near on the money. For some reason the Ocean Reef one looks to be out in a clear wind path, further out than Swan.
If looking, and wanting to go to Ocean Reef or Pinneroo, use the Swan graph as a guide.
I find that the garden island graph is very accurate for woodmans point whereas the woodmans point graph seems to be all over the place
Guys use the search function this topic has been flogged to death and then sum.............the swannie readings r always low due to location & the Ocean reef and rotto readings are high; again due to location as for woodies Laurie has already informed us that it's location isn't ideal.
Your best bet is to gain a bit of weather knowledge and how it affects the spots where you want to kite/surf/sup or whatever.

Oh yeah, you're right Weta, there have been a few similar topics posted in the past.
So, the results appear to be affected due to the actual positioning and perhaps the age and condition of the "reader" itself. Perhaps the Swanny one needs a bit of lube (If they cant find any lube, there's probably a fair bit in those sand dunes in Swanny)
