Completely off-topic but seeing as many of you surf...and its starting to get colder...I thought I'd ask the question!
Any of my kiting brethren interesting in doing a heavily discounted surfing boat charter out of northern Sumatra in May? I've organised the charter but need a few more people for it to sail as some mates pulled out.
To the conspiracy theorists out there - no, I don't have a vested interest in the charter; and yes, I know this is a kiting forum.
Rates are yet to be confirmed for this particular trip, but because it's getting late, it'll most likely be around $2000 pp - it's normally 3k...so a heavy discount.
If you're still with me:
- 10 day boat trip - warm water, surfing, diving, fishing, spearfishing, drinking, eating.
- Youtube breaks like Treasure Island, Cobras or Bay of Plenty.
- Only 3 charters operate out of Banyaks at one time as opposed to the 20 odd that operate out of the Ments. I've been to both regions (including camps in southern Sumatra and around Java) - and I'm returning if that means anything.
Apologies if anyone gets upset with this post (and I'm sure someone will be absolutely OUTRAGED that this appears on a kiting forum - heaven forbid) but thought it might be worth a shot as we'd be devo if it doesn't run due to lack of numbers!
A good opportunity if you've ever thought about going to Indo but don't want to pay the ridiculous $$$ that some charters attract.

haha well actually - on occasions there is some wind! I'd actually head to West Java if you want wind and waves...
