Watched a lot of this go down and was blown away. So thankful for modern kites.

When they fell off did you see how they got back to their boards? I imagine body dragging with that kite especially upwind wouldnt be much fun.

That was pretty sic. Those guys are legends. I wouldn't mind giving one a crack just to see how far things have advanced. I have only been kiting about 8 years now but there have been tremendous improvement in that time. For Reo to say he was scared, that is saying something. Top Hat, well he could ride a plastic bag and a shoe box and still look good.

That was awesome, thanks for sharing. Imagine how your arms would burn after a session. How often would ppl have had to let go of the kite and hope to find it again in once piece....
I am glad that I missed out on the guinea pig age of kite surfing lol
Haven't seen Top Hat in ages! Good to see he's still around.

They seemed like they could drag back okay, I'm sure there was some buddy system going on too... as for Hat, he's never left, I've seen him there every windy day since I started windsurfing there in 07'. I'm glad I got into kiting later, it was so easy on the modern kites. That 2 liner looked gnarly!

So what was that about having to BUY new kite gear or else?!

But everytime I see TopHat, I can't help thinking of this guy...
Only those that knew those old classic Herge books know what I am talking about.
