Hi Folks,
sorry for the repeat topic but the other one got a bit sidetracked. Those spunky Qld ladies will do that

Just to re-iterate:
I will be on Nth straddy for 6 days starting on Tuesday and am wondering what sort of terrain/waters I'll find. I'm staying at the Anchorage resort (near Pt Lookout)on East Coast Rd I think?
I am transport challenged and hoping to catch a NE on the main beach between Amity point and Lookout point. Or most likely a SE on the east side of the island just south of Pt lookout.
Q: Are there any busses or other transport?
Q: What is the water/beach like on the East side? ie: clean open beaches or swampy sort of action.
Q: How does a 13m C kite and 136 board for a 83kg intermediate sound?
Cheers folks
I was there last weekend. I talked to the point lookout clubies about rules and regs ....no Problems there. They said they don't see too many kiters there. But I was checking it out for myself and I think from what I saw It would be a damn good spot.
Plenty of beach to launch from, no people . The beach signs "closed to 4 wheel drives" are still up, but a short walk and you could kite quite close to the surf club in a south easter anyway. If you are confident in the surf then it will be awesome.
There is a bus that meets the ferry takes you to point lookout. The NE option would be okay further down the east coast but the beach between Amity and point lookout around Dead mans beach area looks good . The water is pristeen ,lots of wild life in the sea we saw a big school of dolphins off point lookout. The surfers were on the southern end of point lookout and the swell looked perfect on the northern end for kiting . A bit of a climb to get to but I think it would be worth the effort.
I was there for other reasons, but I will definetly be going back to kite there.
Hope this helps.
