At least he doesn't wear board shorts over his suit.
That'd be just silly.

Love the black suit, almost tempted to buy one.

Love the big black yacht, big black sails & in yer face big brand name.

Love the branded black kite and branded black board.

Love the brand message by the big corporate.

Love a company with an ethical history...

At least they're sticking with a black theme..

Oh, here's another random 'Brand' video.

I watched that vid and at first thought what a nutter - that's stupidly high and Id like to do that !! But then I thought back to my gliding days where we were winch launching - we had strict speed limits on the winch launch because when you are sitting in the glider and attached to the launch cable you seriously cant feel the forces the aircraft is going through - One day when going a bit fast I looked out along the wing and it was seriously flexed like I was pulling a 5 G loop !!.

So back to our Boss kite flying suited man - kite lines (and attachment points!!) have a maximum load rating and given my experience and his set up he had no idea how much stress his kite was under ( heaps more than just lifting his weight!!) - and I don't know if he was wearing a parachute but theres a good chance out of 10 that playing like that would break at least one line a lot more often than not - and that height would be potentially fatal ( even if he had a parachute he would need to cut away the remaining kite lines and then deploy his chute - soo low and that's not going to happen!!)

Its an awesome bit of footage but given the risk I suggest all those budding go pro hero's think twice !!

sailplanes i take it otherwise youd know how small reserves and theyre containers have gotten. can easily hide one under the back of the jacket etc with a crazy lightweight webbing harness etc on under the suit. (weigh in like under 100grams or some **** now)

More than a few years back - our hang-gliding towing setup had 2 weak links one at the car one at the kite to avoid the shock load break or gradual overload for that matter... but having towed up on cable and on a pay-out winch you think stresses are higher than they are ... the weak links rarely broke.. but we regularly replaced them as we knew the stress weakened them -- .... not sure the clip attachment was well thought through... like a quick release must be easy under load...
Not a low risk ... but what a buzz - would love to do that - on newer gear than mine!!!

Ahh the fun - but not comparable so I would have red thumbed if I didn't know where you are coming from..- remember being surprised when flying my hang-glider (considerably faster than a paraglider) caught up with a Jelly fish at Forbes one year - about 50 kms down the course - thought I was going ok - and they were humming along - neither of use was very impressed when a Cessna decided to come-in for a few close-ish circuits - luckily we were both in a fairly big thermal so un-likley to get any prop-wash...
Cheers

hahahaha man what is it with cessna pilots?!?! and club sports etc they think i have far more control then i really do because man they like getting close, im not that worried if they end up in the lines i have a reserve theyre toast. flying with choppers scares the **** out of me tho bloody kiwi crop dusters man my god.

that shot was from godfreys thats split rock dam infront so more or less just a few thermals out from borah. big comp on this weekend theyre but cant be bothered doing the drive down. plus misses wont come.

it definitely is comparable to kitesurf jumping tho, havent you seen how the jellys are launching these days?!?! check this out hahahahaha bloody nearly same as a kitesurfing jump :D

www.facebook.com/sharemypains/videos/973167176083170/

the red glider was a little korean/china girl she ended up landing in powerlines and nearly died also the yellow glider dude got sucked over back the mountain into the rotor and got the craziest cascades of collapses we all thought he was going to die but somehow got lucky. crazy ****ing day. even the hangys didnt fly that day :D not one.
