So just came across a near new crispy 16m North Rhino, do we try and kite it or leave it alone?

Ha, I have a crispy 14m Rhino. Every now and then I get it out for a blast, just for old times sake. Also helps to remind you how to edge properly. No pushing the bar out for a 90% depower....
For a real retro session I combine it with my directional stonker (aka the aircraft carrier)

Will need to confirm but I think it is a 2006, it has the square wing tips , were they 4 or 5 line kites

Of course you must kite it, I love to go back to the old gear once in a while.
It makes you appreciate how good our current stuff is.

Also, to qualify as an intermediate kiter, you must have at least once been lofted upward while the bar is at full depower.
The Rhino should do the trick in the 20 knots stated above

rhinos were 5 line kites. Had the 16m, nicknamed it The Tank. Good for boosting but damn I could probably do a U turn in a bus faster than I could turn that kite.

I wouldn't say no to having another go on it though, flat water session and yes: 20knots was no problem.

... when I came from a Naish X4 20m to the Rhino 20m I thought it was a zippy machine, especially in the turning stakes, the Rhino was bad but damn the Naish was worse.

Stupidly, I taught myself to kiteloop on the Rhino 20m and talk about kites catching you at the end of the loop,,,, no f'ing way. I think I destroyed my ankle because if it,,,, tee hee, I was sooo young and dumb back then
