Hi im from Germany and im going to spent the whole January in North Avoca near Sydney.
I have a few Questions.

1. Is it possible/allowed to kitesurf on the North Avoca Beach??

2. Is it allowed to Kitesurf on the beach side of "The Entrance"
I have only seen pics auf kitesurfers on the lake side. But this spot is offshore when is NE Wind.

3. How windy are the days in January?

I hope you can help me :-)

best regards Lukas

north avoca is no good. Wamby just over the hill can be good, but sometimes gets a bit gusty if the wind swings a little too north. But there are plenty of really good beaches around if you have a car. North Entrance is a good place to start, much better in a NNE and no people on the beach to complicate things (ie end of the houses on the north side of the channel). Talk to a few locals or the guys at ESS when you get here and I'm sure they will be happy to tell you about the rest of the places.

Hi Lukas
Lots of good kiting spots within 15 to 20 mins drive of Avoca. In Jan you should be able to ride around 4 days a week. Depending on you gear.Try and find Scotty or Locky from the local Kite school and they will be happy to show you round or just ask anyone you see kiting as the local scene around here is very friendly. Today is a downwinder up at Soliders beach all the way back down to north Entrance about 15 klms.We will have about 20 kiters. This is something you need to do while you are here with us on the coast, takes about 2-3hrs graet wave riding. No sorry no home page. I would rather not say the name of the school on line as the shop is not a site sponser and I do not want to cause any trouble or take business away from the shops and schools who do advertise on this site. Just ask any of the locals you see kiting and they will point you in the right direction. or ask around for me Rod and I will be only to happy to show you the spots. Rod
