Picked up a 2008 North rocketfish, the fins are flexible plastic and wont hold down power without releasing, does anyone know where I can get decent replacement fins or FCS adaptors. The current fin system looks like the NPS boards.
Those FCS adapters are pretty hard to find - you could always use the Slingshot fins? They are a lot stiffer and use the same box (mini-tuttle)
The best replacement are the FCS fins in NSP adapters. Even beter if you use epoxy glue between fin and adapter.
The only fins to use are the solid glass fins [Performance Glass].
Iv'e heard the Slingshot fins arn't that good in the Rocketfish [too stiff].
Good luck with the fins .Great board![]()
If you based in Perth, Airbourne has boxes of fins. I kept the outer plastic fins and changed the centre to make it more slidey but then Perth does not have much in the way of surf.
Cheers

Excellent, was just about to google them, only $25, should be able to get em in Torquay, thanks Tobes
I have about half a dozen of the mini tuttle boxes sitting around here.. if you find a shop that sells NSP boards they should have a few sitting around.. you get them free with NSP boards so you can change your fins.. I just went to my local surf shop and he just gave me 4 sets of them that he never sold with the boards..
But BEWARE they are kind of weak and if you even brush the bottom the tuttle will snap and your fin will bend back and go through your board.. I used them in my old SST but am not to keen to stick them in my new board.. the new SS fins in my BW board are pretty good..
yeah i just want a set so that if the SS fins break somewhere like Mambo, I can whip in an FCS replacement to see me through...
I've been using the NSP adapters in my Rocketfish (sadly snapped in Indo this year) the past 2 years and NO issues at all, except that you can lose a fin if you hit the reef etc-fin gets pulled out of the NSP adapter which stays connected-for my money I'd rather lose a fin than have the box blow out so no biggy.
The adapters are great-just a little fiddly to get a good fit.
Took a max 5 minutes to do the adaptor & new fins fitout, the adaptors went straight in, she's now sporting a set of FCS G6's off a retired board, downside - no wind here today ![]()
