The best I've seen was a pic posted by the inimitable Waveslave. His quote "I adapt stuff" His mod, was attached to the base of the pump, looked like a far more a solid connection than a couple of flimsy straps.

I plan to modify my own pump for next season, a la Waveslave. Hope he didn't patent his idea . If I remember correctly , (it was a few years ago) he copped a negative response from a mouthy juvenile, who will, one day want a pump that doesn't make his back sore .

You can't pay a man a greater compliment , than to copy him

Post that pic again 'slave, you old bugger . cheers, J

Slave has kept the photo in his gallery, so you can see it there.

I just built a wood frame. It doesn't really matter what way you build it, several ways work out about the same.
I reckon build it height wise so your knees are just slightly bent and arms straight when you finish the downstroke.
The only thing I would say is - its best to build it so its tilted away from you. I found it best to tilt it about 2mm across the 100mm width of the base of the pump. It's just the way the ergonomics work out.

Report back Jason please!

+1

I'm a lanky bastard, which combined with my laziness could make this a good option...

Guys!!!

MY REVIEW ON THE OZITO 12v AIR PUMP;

Got one from Bunnings ,gave it a good charge, rigged up a good adaptor for my 8m Ozone Catalyst then returned it back to Bunnings within the hour. After 10 minutes of 12v pumping (more like using a Kango, noise was deafening) there wasn't even enough air in the kite to keep a mouse afloat. It would take an eternity to blow up my Zephyr. Biggest load of pointless ****te since they invented the sedgway & 'hair in a can' (not in any order). I could only ever recommend it to someone with chronic emphysema & only if they needed to inflate a ping pong ball. Someone mentioned they need to keep their girlfriend pumped up? I recommend you use a stick of dynamite. You pull out & plug in the Ozito she's going to divorce you.

Haha missed this sorry mate - best review yet on SB. At least we can trust you're not pimping... Thanks for doing the hard yards for us

You can get many different brands that do the same thing, brother uses one to inflate those 2 man inflatable things for behind the boat, does it in under 1 minute at a pressure that would be good enough for a kite.

Not sure about this. Has it got a pressure regulator you can set (pressure cut-off)? For sure you do not want to pump your new 2013 kite without one

The whole idea of Bravo pumps is to leave the pump on and walk away...

I have been using a Bravo 12v pump but always check the pressure in the kite by hand by squeezing it.

My doubts about the blower would only be that it can reach the pressure required.

If you don't like pumping, don't want a massively long handle on your pump, then get one of these awesome quality Australian designed electric pumps

Need high volume, low pressure:
I've got a Coleman rechargeable pump, blows up a King Size air mattress no probs and then used it every night for a week to top up the mattress without recharging. This would be awesome for kites!

Just haven't figured out how to fit my Cab inflate hose yet because they are a different diameter......will work on it when I have some time and report.
