It doesn't really bother me enough to want something to make it easier. Perhaps when I'm older with back problems.
For now I just have a proper bend in my knees when pumping, and it gives me a good warmup ![]()
Same pump, same stroke. Albeit a little higher. A bigger chamber for less strokes maybe a better idea! At least it won't fall out of my kite bag straps if it has more length!
Another improvement if you have a bad back is this Bravo 4ALU pump that switches automatically from double action to downward action only when the pressure reaches 5.8 psi.

The more I think about it, the more I want one
Often wondered why pumps can't be a bit bigger
Higher handle and more capacity
All they would need is a longer main chamber and central tube. Surely the extra cost would be almost nothing
Not really a new idea or the best I've seen. The velcro straps will permit movement/rocking of the handle back and forth. The best I've seen was a pic posted by the inimitable Waveslave. His quote "I adapt stuff" His mod, was attached to the base of the pump, looked like a far more a solid connection than a couple of flimsy straps.
I plan to modify my own pump for next season, a la Waveslave. Hope he didn't patent his idea
. If I remember correctly , (it was a few years ago) he copped a negative response from a mouthy juvenile, who will, one day want a pump that doesn't make his back sore .
You can't pay a man a greater compliment , than to copy him ![]()
Post that pic again 'slave, you old bugger![]()
. cheers, J
My liquid force pump came with a handle extension. I'm sure it would be ok if you have a bad back but it makes it harder to pump because you cant use your body weight to push down as easily.
dont know about kites but the OZITO blows up inflatable SUPS pretty swiftly so i reckon it would goto town on a kite.
Damn Joyrider...are you serious, does that ozito option work? Already asked but thought I'd ask again. Seems a simple solution if it does!
as mentioned, ive used them to blow up inflatable SUP's and it did about 10 in one charge.
All we had to do was about 3 pumps (with a manual pump) to get the desired PSI, but a SUP holds a lot more pressure id imagine.
the guys racing at sail melbourne used them for big kites and they worked a treat.
at least if it doesn't blow up your kite it will blow up your inflatable Girlfriend.
it says on the ozito site "to be used with inflatable toys".
Bugger my Super Bravo electric pump may have just **** it self after 5 years, you pay for what you get.
About 750 pump ups, worked out about $1.50 per pump so looking for a new one.
This does not include my blow up doll.
