Hi all,
Just wanted to show off the Underground for 2009.

These boards look and are Insane!

Quad concave,Flexi tips, stiff middle sec... its just all too good.

I have only had a little ride on one so I will post a full review after some more time on it.

But what I can tell you from my first ride was that it was Fast,Super smooth and had the best Pop for a board that is so smooth through the rough stuff!

Absolutely amazing!

We have demo boards in store for those who want a test ride.

Cheers

Luke

Nothing at all like either of those boards dude, hang on a se****hey all have straps and fins and are twin tips so I guess you could say they are allike.

No but really the Cabrinha Custom is what I rode all this summer and loved it and still do.
The Quad concave on that is nothing like on the new Underground. Also the Custom has way more rocker wich gives it a completly diferent feel to the Underground.

The Underground has a very unique flex pattern not to mention bottom shape which I have not seen or felt in a board before.

Try and have a go on one some time you will be surprised.

All the best

Luke

looks like the jimmy lewis dominatrix shape with a quad concave inside it, so technically thats 5 concaves. how is the flex and stuff so different and why is it so good??? im pretty intrigued. what is it made of? how strong is it? where is the flex and how much.
cheers al.

i had a look at these earlier in the year in NZ an they do appear to have it all sorted with this board, I am over the extensive graphics though.

Hey Rowdy, read up on them here.
They are not quad or quin concave, they are a single concave with 3 spines, which taper off to nothing near the tips.
The top shape is crucial to the performance too.

Nothing I have ridden feels as good as this board.

Are'nt these boards supposed to have extra inserts for bolting down bindings?

Has anyone tested it out with bindings yet? Do they fit?

What sizes are they on? the website reckons the wake inserts are only on specific sizes?

I remember someone asking this before. you have to ask them for a custom board to get wake inserts because the wakestyle board has a slightly heavier rocker and is a little stiffer.

They look soo good they want me to blatently advertise!!!!

Serious use the review section, that is what it is for. I know your super stoked on the new boards but everyone else posts their ads in the review section so why shouldn't you too?

Not too mention according to your profile your not even a site sponsor!

I reckon its relevant to the general forum, because if the wake inserts do not come standard then everybody needs to be informed or else someone will get caught out when their new board arrives.

So just to recap, does the standard boards come with wake inserts or not?

The website reckons the wake inserts are only on specific sizes? But I just assumed that these specific sizes were the smallest board and the largest boards.

But you know what assume does to me and you.................................

Yeah the 2009 132 is Sh t hot
Underpowered , slips n slides a bit ,underpowered slow turns are a bit stiff (rocker line ) but its fun!
Powered , "the best ride i had", smooth ride but stiff not to much flexing , edgeing hard generates heaps of speed / power n control, powered turns
the boards nice n loose real fast through turns / jaming style turns better again .
Jumping, brilliant pop, " with oh so soft landing " , especially kite loop landing and works so good in the surf n heavy chop (a must have twin tip) for me near 100kgs
boards nice n light too, quality footstraps with precision hardware.
looks unreal too
wake inserts or not? don't know but wake style riders will like it , 8 years ago near drowned in big surf wearing bindings I guess they are made a lot easier to get out of now , back then we were on jimmy lewis pickle fork , funny that cause before
that we rode directional surfboards, now kitesurfing has done a full circle , surfboards are back!

Cheers Peter

I got to try my 08 FLX132 on the weekend. Couldnt say enough good things about it.

I never got to try the 07 board but previously owned the 06 until she broke.

If you liked the 06 board then you will definately love the 08 one!! The damn thing holds an edge like a knife!! Big improvement on the pads/straps too.

Wake inserts come standard too.

Super stoked, plus I found a new spot to kite during a northerly.

I've had my one for a few months now. I agree with everything above, although for me one thing I really noticed is that this board goes upwind far better than the previous ones. In light wind I've managed to tack upwind further and faster than before.

Like the comment above though, the main difference is riding overpowered (which I seem to end up doing a lot). Seems to handle chop better and the kite-low landings are particularly smooth (I wish I could say that was my skill, but I think it's all the board here)

Only downside is that it gets heavy to carry after an hour strapped to my back, but I guess I need a couple of spoonfuls of concrete....

Yeh I reckon the 08 deck is slightly heavier than the 06 deck but is pretty close. I'd have to weigh both to really tell the difference.

The outline is slightly bigger too. I found the 08 board about 15mm wider and about 15mm longer compared to the 06. The board only just squizes into my 130 board bag, whereas the 06 fit easily.

The 08 boards which have a Pawlonia wood core weigh approx 80-100 grams, as in approx 3-4 ounces more than the older and weaker foam core boards.
I would gladly have the slightly extra weight because the wood core board have even better pop and flex, and are just about bomb proof! (have no heard or seen of a broken wood core UG board.)
Amazingly good boards for tracking, stability when landing jumps/tricks, and upwind/bite. Construction and finish is first class, pads/straps are so comfy this year and can be ordered in S/M/L sizes to suit any foot size.

As for strap/pad sizes, the M suited me perfect.

I'm a size 13US boot and thought I'd need the Large straps/pads but the medium fit perfect.
