Hey Ian Yang.....I saw you riding the new Spleene Zone the other day. It looks much longer then the previous version. Can you write about it in comparison to the previous, shorter version. There are a few of us riding it, so they might also be interested to read your review.
Cheers Mate

Sorry about the late response - I don't read the forum every day

The 2009/10 Spleene Zone is 174 x 44cm quad fin (2008 Zone was 159 x 43cm thruster).

Initially I found the 174 a bit slower to turn than the 159 but certainly got planing in lighter winds and pointed upwind a bit better. After getting used to the 174 I now feel I can throw it around just as hard as the short board. Both boards are almost indestructible, can hold an edge like a twin-tip and have really nice flex that gives a smooth ride in the choppiest conditions.

I was really looking forward to seeing how it went course racing but we didn't get enough wind yesterday and Darren postponed till next week.

Anyone wanting to give it a test ride just needs to contact me to make a time & place
