Are promo videos getting worse? Wtf does volleyball have to do with anything?

The song doesn’t suit a promo vid imo.

A video that actually shows the kite and the bar without any pro-riders throwing double-passes but beginners having a great time instead? Heresy!

Very reserved video launch, some major changes to the kite , especially wingtips and trailing edge ,interesting to hear why such drastic changes I used to enjoy my old cat 8 in nuking winds, very dependable kite ,

Well Mike there is a new kite coming called the Enduro, that will continue where the old cat left off. The old cat was getting too "advanced" for its intended market. The Catalyst V1 (and original Cat) market is squarely aimed at the needs of beginner and intermediate kiters, pretty much a kite that will do it all from first rides (and teaching) to learning the basics of freeride and wave riding. I think its the type kite that at least 50% of riders should be on, the guys and girls that ride weekends only, summer only, time poor as they have family and careers etc. Its a kite that has great safety and stability combined with almost auto relaunch (LE shape) and good low end.
You will enjoy the Enduro though, make sure you try one. Its so hard for me to sell my 10M 2015 Cat, I have 2 x 10M kites now, Reo V3 10m and the Cat, I love the Reo and its the kite that covers 90% of my riding......

I would say this video would be very appealing to europeans who probably buy 10 times as many kites as australians because there's more humans there.
Most of the world don't cruise down to the beach with a surfboard or a kite, they play paddle tennis with speedos on, beach volleyball, men do tanning, etc.

Australia is a very rare exception where we're actually really cool when we go to the beach (both men and women), most people are massive dorks with their beach bags, bright summer short shorts and paddle tennis bats.

You should visit a city beach or popular seaside holiday spot, nothing but "massive dorks with their beach bags, bright summer short shorts and paddle tennis bats." + sh1tloads of plastic crap they think they need to have fun, or to bring their crap food in. Then a percentage of them leave a lot of it behind for locals and councils to clean up. The average Aussie is as much of a beach dork as anywhere else in the world IMO.

The video is different, definitely made in Europe, where the market for kiting is probably 20-30+ times that of Oz, but the video still shows off the kite well, just without all the hype and footage of stuff most kiters can/will never do, or just footage of the rider, and not much of the kite up close. I like the video because its different, not the best I've ever seen but its still showing off the kite well and has me curious to try one, even though Cat V1 is probably not going to replace my Reo's....

Its not delta although that point in the TE does give it that appearance. The LE shape makes it relaunch super easy and good power through the turns. The old Cat was getting hard for beginners to relaunch due to the flat LE shape, experienced riders had no issue, but for those starting out who had not learned all the tricks at relaunching could find it hard.
Demo's will be in soon.

Hey guys,

Has anyone tried this (or shop owners)? I'm looking to buy a 14m catalyst(currently just own a 2013 10m C4) for those lighter wind days.
I've learned on this C4 (can just go upwind) from the very start so im worried i might outgrow this new catalyst and that a 2015 version might be better for me.
