G'day guys im after some advice on which board would be best suited for my needs.
I ride in mainly surf conditions but occasionally go to flatwater spots.
Im interested in wakestyle/ freeride riding not really into surfing. What board is going to give me the performance i need for wakestyle moves but also be able to handle the chop and the waves?.

Im leaning towards a Cabrinha Custom 08 at the moment but iv heard that these boards take allot to get up and moving? can anyone comment on this. Also what size would be best for me?.

Weight: 70kg
Height: 5.6 foot
Kite: 07 Ozone Instinct sport 11m
wind average: 16-25

Hey,

I'm planning a new freeride board myself and been doing alot of looking at reviews.

From what I've seen in mags and online, the Nobile 555 is consistently rated really high.
Also getting good reviews are:
Liquid Force Recoil
Airush X-Pact
Cab Custom got a good review in KiteWorld too. Here's a summary - 'Cabrinha's top of the line performance twin tip is as at home in the average rider's hands as the top pros. The Custom really does have great all-round capabilitirs and while it has serious application for wake style, it hasn't lost any of that good old fashioned ease-of-handling and all round fun of a good twin tip. Looks good too.'

I'd think you'd be looking at high 120s - low 130s for board length at your size.

Dude u weigh 70 kilos, u could ride a macca tray if u had to. Getting going on a cab custom or any similar wakestyle board isnt going to be a problem. I suggest u get a board with some real rocker and reep the benifits. Why struggle with chop and landings just because some kooks who cant ride wakeboards tell you "u cant go upwind with that much rocker"

the cab custom looks like a nice board, the LF concept would also be ok and of course the catapult wakestyle boards are sick to. Any similar boards would be good for you.

something 136cm would be a good length for you i think, and anything 40cm and wider.

I've been riding a 131cm 08 Thorn, and I can't recommend it highly enough
Footstraps are awesome, better low end pop that last years. I only ride in chop, and this board handles it really well. It's a very nice solid board

A little more length in the surf and chop is always nice.

Interesting,, iv always loved what cardboards are doing and it being an Australian company just makes it even sweeter. But being a Cheap ass uni student $800 is just to large a stretch for my budget. there are many good condition used or xdemo customs on the market which is why i was leaning towards them.

yeh customs dont take much less wind at all to get going. i ride a 128 custom 08 and its great for chop and flat water wakestyle. go for it if it is cheaper and probably go for the 133.
