I am Neil's former partner and still best friend. He is very unwell and any messages of support I can read to him would be good.
Those of you around from the beginning of this sport know how much he has contributed - I need your best wishes now.
Thanks Terry

Neil is a true gentleman and a master at fixing kites.

I used to enjoy catching up with him at his old Wembley shop for a chat while he fixed my kites on the spot.

Neil sold me my first Naish kite.

Get well buddy my thoughts are with you.

Hi Neil

Another original Wembley shop client from the old days here, and 'down the lane' in recent years too.

I've said it before, you're the kite magician

You've been invaluable to so many of us who've had our kites fixed, literally while we wait.

Stay strong and get well again, take that beautiful bike of yours out for a good run..

Wishing you the very best and many more Bali holidays too.

Ditto above...

on the beach, you or someone else's kite gets damaged, whilst packing up, the cries of

'time to visit neil again '

has been echoed up and down the WA coast for years now.

It happenned only a week or so ago actually...

Here's looking forward to a Bintang or three or four (generally more) sitting on the stools at the rip curl school in Sanur Neil. My shout.

Dear Neil,

I just got off the phone to Terry, who no doubt is with you now and I know will read this to you. It was only a few days ago we were laughing and chatting in the shop, I can't believe this has happened. We've known each other for along time now and our friendship has always been something I've enjoyed and cherished. You have the most positive upbeat attitude to life and have been in this game longer than almost anyone in the country.

You've beaten some serious health concerns in your past and you're not in bad shape generally, so I know you are in the best shape to do your best to fight your way back to good health. I'm not a religious man, but I do have my own beliefs and I will pray for you and send you as much positive energy as I can muster. In the meantime, relax, and don't worry about a thing. You are loved and respected by a very large community of people both in Australia, Bali and more specifically Western Australia.

Speedy recovery my old friend, I'll see you again soon.

Hey Neil

Best wishes for a full recovery from Juls and Steve. I was flying that massive black and white tail (160' long) on Friday, so was thinking about you and the guy that made the kite that was towing it our mate Bob Dawson. I've still got a couple of your 3/4 West Coast Angels, a light weight one and a carrington one, awesome kites.

Neil sold my first kite back in the day. I still remember the stoke and punishings that Naish R3 two line kite gave me. I kept him updated with my stoke, and floggings. He told me on the phone that he could make the kite de-powerable.. What?? He rolled the tip up, sewed in a few attachment points, modified the bar, then off i went with a four line kite, never to be flooged again!! Often..

I too can only think of positive and happy dealings with Neil. I'm mustering all the positive energy and sending it your way buddy.
Get well soon ay.

Been a long time since I last put a Cabrinha into a tree down at the river - was learning and completely distraught at the thought of buggering up my kite so soon after getting it - but Neil fixed it whilst I waited and made my day.

Even though I brought in half a bucket of sand to his shop, which he had to clean up, he was still smiling and happy to talk about the stoke of kiting.

Get well soon Neil

Sending positive vibes your way Neil. I have only come to your shop once when I thought my kite probably couldn't be repaired, you worked your magic though and had me back out on the water in no time. I have always recommended you to anyone with a kite in need of repair since that afternoon.

Get well soon Mate.

I’m surprised you couldn’t do a same day turn around on yourself. Perth kiters have been very fortunate to have you available almost 24/7 to get us back on the water.

Best wishes on a speedy and full recovery mate. Cheers Slack

Must be something pretty serious to knock you down mate. Sending positive energy your way.

Have put a number of kites on your repair table over the years, some of which I thought unrepairable and you've delivered the perfect repair every time. As per most of the posts above, you're a household name in the WA kite community and we all want you back on deck.

Get well soon.
