Ok, the wife has booked to go to Sri Lanka and picked Negombo. Now I just checked and the wind is good there in March while I am there. I do not want to take gear but want to rent a kite and SB from local shop. Happens that the North Factory is there too.

Can anyone please suggest whom to rent from and if they have done it in the past. Naturally I would like to rent the latest North gear........but hey have Faith, never heard of this brand before.

Go a bit further north than Negombo mate, like another 1hr or so - I think you'll find its better than Negombo ... these guys are just what your looking for I think - haven't heard any reports about 'em yet ...

I think your going a bit early ... June/July would be my pick ... they 'say' on their website that it's dry all year round with some scattered rain in their 'on' season May to October - from my experiences of 'Silly Wanker' it can piss down during the SW monsoon at times, BUT usually always some on-shore winds ...
(West coast can still be off-shore in march depending on the season - I've even surfed as late as April with off-shore winds west coast)

want a tour...bloke who owns kite hotel in negambo works/supervises at factory..can ask him..who knows..
was cheap kite hire from memory..
got a few good days over east side.or try uo north of negambo.way up.

didn't get sick.saw some good sights.takes for ever to travel anywhere..
cheap.....how cheap i am...for a month from memory spent $300au.food travel/hotel inc....but then again...i could be called tight.
looked at diary..hot hot..a lot of places closed as off season. mosquitoes..but then again i wasn't in delux accom..haha
150klm trip..5hrs on local buses..
