Hi all,
Im after some advice regarding 2018 naish torque bar with btb trim. Just bought second hand bar. First thing i do is check line lengths - I have mine even for naish pivot.
Steering lines were long by about 10cm. Interesting but easily fixed.
Next i check centre lines. With the trim line fully released i pull on the chicken loop and see ALL the tension is on the flag bungee line. I believe the flag line should be slightly stretched but mine is stretched to the max!
What should i do?
- pull the trim line about 10cm to take the tension? Is this normal? I dont like that idea. What if it slips when i ride or i forget to set at start of session?
- replace the flag bungee line? Whats to say the new one will be longer - the right length?
- replace the trim line? Whats to say it will be right length?
Are trim and flag bungee lines interchangeable on 2017 to 2019 torque btb bars?
Can someone tell me the length of trim and flag bungee lines? I googled but could not find!

You need to reduce the length of your front lines to allow some slack in your safety line.

Thanks Christian. I was just watching your video - which is very comprehensive. I will re-check each line pair and try the "stretch" option. I will wash all lines with warm soapy water first. Wonder if stretching while wet makes a diff. Not keen on adding a single tiny line extension.
Possibly take a photo of what you think is the problem and post the pic, check the flag out line has completely reset itself back into the chicken out loop,

The flag and trim lines are interchangeable on torque bars 2017 to 2020.
The flag line for BTB is 75cm and ATB is 83cm. The spare part these days includes a 75cm line plus 8cm.
The trim line for ATB is 187cm and BTB is 152cm.

Sounds hard to believe such huge changes in that time period have you compared different brands of lines and bars or just the one in the video

All the same, over the years I have replicated the same test with 6 different brands (Core, North, Ozone, Best, Ikon, Cabrinha), got the same results.

Awesome information, very comprehensive and explains the importance checking the line lengths so you dont snap your safety Line.
Quick update in case anyone is interested. I gave the lines a good wash in warm soapy water. And when dry i checked the lengths again. Still a little bit off (not as much as before). This was easily fixed with a firm stretching! Case closed.
