Interesting article about a kitesurfer in NZ www.stuff.co.nz/nelson-mail/news/6474744/Kitesurfer-swam-to-island-after-fall

A Nelson kitesurfer was rescued from Haulashore Island after she got into difficulty yesterday afternoon and had to ditch her kite.

The rescued woman did not have a buoyancy vest or flares, he said.

"We've been pushing for years to encourage kitesurfers to carry flares and wear some buoyancy vests. They make special buoyancy vests for kitesurfers, now but not many people use theirs."

It would appear she was kiting in offshore wind when she crashed then released her kite, but made it safely to an island after leaving the kite.

Sounds like she new the risks and rescued herself successfully. Story reeks of a hidden agenda for PFD's.

cool where do i get some of them flares , imagine a double
kiteloop with a couple of stabber brand flares exausting out the
back.

may require a Bat Stabber utility belt to carry flares, hook knife,
sunscreen,deodorant,coffee m/c,and tissue pouch(for WA )

Are they serious ???

next thing will be an RBT on the beach

She would want to be careful if she starts looking sheepish she is going to get even more attention over there.

Hey Plummet this Kiwi friend of mine was bragging about how many sex partners he had had, so I asked him how many.
He started counting and then he fell asleep........
