I know various people have said various things in the past regarding putting music to a kiting vid however does any1 actually know if I were to place a clip on youtube with a coverband's song, am I doing anything illegal ?
There are literally millions of camera phone recordings of concerts and all sorts of stuff on there so I assume on the basis of that and since it's non profit/sale etc and for home viewing that it would all be fine?
If you use a commercial track and put it on youtube the worst that will happen to you is it will be taken down off youtube. Unless you sell it or somehow make money off it they aren't going to sue you.
If its just going on Youtube don't worry about using production music/non commercial music.
