Going on a surfing trip in October - camp based

I don't think it is usually windy, but recent surf reports have reported it has been quite windy lately.

For what it is worth, half-thinking of throwing in the kite.

Anyone who knows (or has been) got any views as to whether I am dreaming?

October is getting towards the end of the surf season.
We went in july and didn't have one windy day, although the surf was good and very consistent, if I went again I definately wouldn't pack a kite

Hello all,
I have been talking to friends and charter operator about Mentawais, it appear that there is not much a define wind season there.
But everyone told me that there may be some casual wind time to time...
If you going just pack a medium size kite with your surfboard! You never know...
Bye Jankie
