gday all.
hope we have our weekend kite trips organised and ready to go.
just looking for some quick help or advice here.

my kite is a menopausal old woman........
just a slight leaking bladder. im pretty sure its in the wing tip, but I cant find precisely where it is.
I have tried dunking it in water and squeezing the the struts and LE to find it, but its such a slow leak that I cant seem to find anything.

its not too bad, I usually get between 1.5 - 2 hours before I have to re-pump, but obviously its a pain in the arse and I have been putting up with it since xmas.

im poor, so im not going to send to get repaired for a tiny slow leak.

does anybody have any redneck / home method to finding slow leaks?

im hoping somebody is going to get back with reply tonight, so I can get out there and fix it before the weekend gets going.

thanks all.

if anybody is in MELB and wants to fix it, I could work out a bottle of scotch.

Spray a weak solution of water and dishwashing solution on the inflated kite. If its leaking, you'll see bubbles. Then pull out the bladder and patch.

Good luck with the repair, make sure you get that patch stuck on goooood

If its a very slow leak, its probably one of the valves...

I had the same thing so I took the bladder out of the LE, put a little air in it then sprayed the detergent/ water mixture on to find the leak and yes it was coming from the valve stem. You have to take the bladder out to do most repairs anyhow so I figure you might as well remove it before even starting to look for the leak...

Stretched inflate and deflates along with le to strut connections are generally the culprit with slow leaks, 50, 50 mix water mild detergent , in a plant spray bottle shaken to mix, elimination is the key don't spray large areas, also distort connection points when spraying solution,

Just pump it up and put it in the pool. There is next to no chlorine this time of year. Can't help you with the menapausal thing.
