I do think that at some point Melville may become a WAKSA kite zone only.

Dan has voiced his opinion, what about you others?

Personally I'm for making the whole coast WAKSA/AKSA members only.

Sometimes I believe these WAKSA try-hards have flipped the script...
lost the plot.
Or maybe they haven't ?
Maybe it's an evil plan to boost the financials.
Man, safety with kiting is primarily linked to site conditions.
Joining a club and wearing a stupid tag on your harness will not change the wind direction from gusty onshore to primo sideshore.
The tag won't move the big trees, houses and vehicle traffic.
Even though this river spot looks lame, maybe it's not suited to learners.
Maybe it's a wolf dressed in sheeps clothing.

True, the WAKSA tag wont save your asz from bad desisions you made on location and wind strength, but might save your asz if some one gets hurt and you loose the fancy campervan cause some one is after your cash.
If you get my drift,
are you a member?
Will you need some help from the organization if some one feels they are no longer safe with this old half bald dude messing with a kite on their local beach

Don't reply to Mr.Slave, you just gave him the satisfaction for his troll. Next point he is going to make is that WAKSA or for that matter AKSA have never paid out and also it is just 3rd party insurance so your still gonna cop some cost.

remeber all water uses , duty of care incompasses a wide range of cause and effects in our tort law system , do your own risk management when enjoying your time on the water. A $2000 kite kit could unfold into $100,000 law suit if you are proven negilent in the public arena.

Look, I'm ok with you having an opinion.
You have a right to one and I can fully accept it.
I'm cool.
Now, back to WAKSA....
Nope, no insurance payout ever.

Well I have all sorts of insurance, car, house, contents, income protection, etc.I havnt made a claim on any of them, but I see it as part of my standard of living I want to protect that I pay for these.
You are probable still hard core, and a bit of an anarchist, and I respect that, but if you get yourself a gun, you got to be prepared to use it.

Just a reminder guys:

Keep it at least a little bit related to kiting at Melville.

To be personal, perhaps use the "email" button, rather than "reply to topic".

Enjoy .. Lozza
