Absolutely , can only speak for east coast NSW El nino (the boy ) causes dry summers which in turn produces good seabreezes and La nina (the girl ) causes wet summers which in turn screws up all seabreezes

Yeh as long as it's hot, we should still get the sea breeze. I'll take a NE seabreeze over a SE any day! !

El nino brings cold water to our parts and therefore less rainfall and more seabreezes.

Actually I have things back to front.. wasn't it la nina when you guys had the bad floods?

because we had 2 bad seasons around the same time and come to think of it.. was in la nina.

Forecast for SE Queensland is for SE winds for the next week

I thought at this time of year it was supposed to be NE winds

But I have never really been here to kite at this time of year

Still it looks like pretty good wind, anyway

Winds been awesome every afternoon here in bowen for over 3 weeks straight. Literally has not been a bad day yet. Around 2 every afternoon shes on. Not the strongest wind but powered on the 12s. Yet the forcast has not shown there to be any for that whole time

El Nino is shot for WA. Warmer water, less temp differential between land and sea means weaker sea breezes, and more of the troughy type conditions like today...
