Hey everyone,
Has anyone been to Mauritius? My family is thinking of going there next month and was hoping someone can recommend good accommodation. We were looking a renting a villa / house / unit whatever?? for 2 adults and 3 kids for about 12 days. Would be great to hear of any information that would help us to book. We need to book this week preferably. Would be good to be on the beach, not far from kiting and good for the kids. Also if you know about airport transfers / car hire / etc.
Thanks

I would think that, staying at one of the beach resorts in Le Morne would be ideal for a family as those resorts have plenty of things to do for kids. I know that one of the resorts is a Club Med, which is focused on activities/water sports etc and if you are staying there access to all those activities is all inclusive. You walk 50 m either direction from each end of the resort and you have the two kite launch locations.

The resort is nice and sheltered from the wind. The location is spectacular regardless of whether wind is up.

Staying at one of those resorts is pretty expensive but you get the full service treatment. They will organise a transfer for you, car hire if you want it. You can eat, drink there and not even leave the resort if you want.

Off the top of my head it cost about $25 per person to get from the airport to La Gaulette which is a small village nearby to Le Morne.

When I stayed there I organised a apartment in La Gaulette, the guy who ran the 4 unit accommodation sorted transfers and a ute to hire for our week there.

Bad news on the Indian resort . Stayed there last week as it was the annual RRD product launch and distributor conference. I was told that the resort had gone bankrupt and had been sold to a German investment company. Having initially been told that their booking was cancelled The new Owners decided to reopen just for last week given the large group (150+) but I understand are now closing for refurbishment which is a shame as perfect spot with ocean front rooms looking out at one eye, chameau and manoa
