Righto team, I'm in a bit of a bind and was wondering if anyone could help out? In a roundabout sort of way I've ended up agreeing to coordinate a kiteboarding demonstration in Mandurah on the weekend. They're having some sort of local festival down there and are showcasing a heap of watersports, including kiteboarding (hopefully).
I had lined up a whole heap of people to do the demo but most of them are going to be at the nationals now, and I'm down to myself and Spacemonkey. I was hoping to get another 3 or 4 competent riders to get out on the water there and help fill the timeslot we've been given from 3.30pm to 5.30pm. I know it's late notice but all my other plans have fallen through only recently, and it's now a last ditch effort.
This would be a job for the advanced intermediate through to expert rider, the designated launch area isn't the best and there isn't a clear beach downwind for catchment if you stuff up. It would also be good to put on a bit of a show for the crowd so people with a few more tricks in their repertoire would be preferable.
The whole thing is looking rather unlikely at the moment anyway due to the forecast, but I'd like to have a few people I could call on if it does go ahead, so if you're interested please send me a PM (with your phone number if you want) and I can give you the details.
Cheers,
Pat
Hi, I am going to crab fest. I only know a couple of tricks, but going for a kite in the town estuary would be something new. How do I get in touch with you?
PM means Private Message, like the one I just sent you. You should see something like 'You have a new private message' near the top of your screen.
maybe get the names of people who entered kitejam and phone around, im sure there will be some people in town for it.
I have enough people now that if the wind pulls through we can put on a bit of a show. Thanks to everyone who has replied. I will try to make some sort of committment tomorrow evening as to whether we should bother showing up or not.
I spoke to the organiser, I said it will be very unlikely to work tomorrow and we probably won't show up. I am still flexible though (you should see me in a leotard) and if it looks like being a chance might go for a drive down. I'll make some phone calls if I do to those who have their hands up.
Arrows have turned to carp but the BOM forecast is still looking good at 15 to 20 kts SSW late avo.
Good luck with it.
