Maui Sunset in Kehei is always good.

Paia is good if you like being close to Hookipa

I stayed at the Nalu Kai in Paia this year late June early July, reasonably cheap, clean but no telly in room so pretty basic. Had Wifi though!
I would definitely go back there but needed hire car to keep heading West to between Kite Beach and Kanaha to kite each day...that is you can't kite straight out the front:(
Paia great for restaurants and a mellow vibe...they have an awesome mini fresh food supermarket there for sandwich ingredients, beers etc.
Would wake up and stroll across road for a coffee and fruit parfait each morning, so life was good!

Paia...best organic market I have ever been to, has everything and more....interesting entertainment just outside the door too if you are into people watching. Good food, close to all the kiting spots, though you need a car. Mangolani is a pretty good spot. Very chill. Forget about tv while you are away. They do have wifi.

Definitely Paia if you want to make it a pure kite trip, if you Go on air BnB they have heaps of bungalows and studio rooms to rent! we stayed in a yoga studio for about $80 a night was pretty epic! Mana foods in town has good food and meals for reasonable prices!!

I would recommend up around Haiku.

We stayed in a in a great cottage for about $100 per night. It’s only 10mins to Hookipa and 15min to Paia. Very quiet up in the hill away from the main road. There tons of places rented direct by owners at this web site.

Def need a car on the island, there isnt much accommodation near the kitebeaches except for a campground. Also +1 for Paia as it's cheap and very laid back.

Sugar Cove is also a good location but expensive, half way between Sprecklesville and Paia. Definitely need car, try Al West, wind can be 5 to 10 knots stronger on the other side of the island which can be the difference between kite or no kite..
