Funny you should post this cauncy I was wondering the same thing. I haven't seen a post from rob s since his summary of Lhoknga almost 2 years ago.

Hope he's enjoying good wind wherever he is.

yeh rob always used to pass through Dongara in mid November, last time we spoke hed ordered his yacht and was sailing down the coast, rob was an annual visitor to the cocos islands , so keen to hear if hes been there, just seems like hes gone off the radar, anyone who knows rob will admit hes a bit of a legend for his age

Hey, I'm alive and kicking!

My kite buddy Roger said I am now famous and sent me a link to this post. You must all be bored.

Hello Cauncy and the rest of the Seabreeze crew, it's good to hear from you. I went to Cocos last year for a month but didn't come over to the West. I really missed my WA trip and the four months caravaning and kiting down the coast from Exmouth. And meeting up again with all my good kite boarding friends like Mike.

Instead, I sailed my cat from Sydney to home (Melbourne) over a leisurely 10 days. A great experience and I learnt heaps. I've only had 3 kite sessions this summer in Melbourne because I was busy building yacht sailing experience. For that very limited kiting I really picked the ideal wind and tide for 3 perfect 9metre days at Altona.
But that was it! I will return to the WA coast. It could be in my caravan or you might just spot me anchored in Big Lagoon or the off Dirk Hartog Is. Who knows.
