G'day everyone does anyone know a good company that does a better than what comes with the kite kitebag? All the zips on my bags even the ones I dont use are stuffed after pretty minimal abuse so my choices are get them fixed/replaced or get new bags that will last a bit. I havnt cared until recently because some the beaches I kite now are a bit of a hike away so need to carry kite bar pump harness sunscreen waterbottle kfc burger towel is a bit of a handfull if yo bag doesn't zip up. Aswell if I go the replacement zip way does anyone know a brand or type of zip what is best for this sort of thing?
Thanks for the help, merry xmas!!
Can't help you with recommendations but noticed the North bags are a bit flimsy. My zips have gone on my 11m on its second season. I found my Best bag pretty solid so use that with a compression bag.
Shxt hot csjena that was fast! Best thing no zips these might be the business I was after. Thank you for the help.
No worries, if you buy one just let us know what you think and review it.
My Cab bags are also all buggered and I thought $129 is not to bad.
I don't need to hike to my local so it's not urgent.
I maybe have to talk to Santa!

Ozone bags are zipless but lightweight
Flexifoil kite bags are the best constructed bags by far, but a bit heavyweight , great knowing your kites well protected in transit though
Royal bags were the easiest to pack with a full opening panel ( suitcase) style
But who packs their kites in the midwest![]()

Avoid WD40. It gumps up more grime and makes it worse. Plastic zippers are very prone to distortion with WD40 as well.
Warm water works about 80% of the time.
Dunk entire bag in a bath tub or troff with warm to hot water (cup of tea temp) and let it soak for 2 hours.
Should work.
If zip really stuck and corroded (alumnium types), get some Hydrochloric acid from Bunnings (for pools) and with gloves, goggles, etc, very carefully place 2 to 4 drops on the zipper. You will see some smoke and even some bubbling as the acid eats away the corrosion/salt. Wash with water and that should definetely do it. I use a medical syringe to place drops onto the zip.
Don't let it get on your skin or on the bag fabric as it will dissolve it - with extreme caution!

Definitely. I put my best bag in the cupboard and just was the little bag that comes with it. Good for resale.
That was quick, just 10min after I added it it was gone.....probably a happy "awkward customer"...

And dont do it if your kite is stuck in the bag........
I want similar , however i prefer to keep the struts all inflated and just roll them after each session.
I really like the long lightweight bags that come with BEST kites.
However they don't last very long before they get torn on board fins in the back of my wagon.
If anyone has a solution to this type of bag , I need to hold / rebag 4 kites.
Thanks for all the advice everyone thats awesome! Ive given one of my bags a good clean and am trying the wd 40 cure if that fails ill do the acid trip on the other either way Ive got a few excellent leads on replacement bags from this thread so cheers everyone
. Aswell no it wasn't me who got the bag off ebay some someone snaked us!
I saw a couple of guys walking through the airport couple of years back with a back pack set up which had a padded section for the board and a fat mid section for the kite and all the gear. Really nice , anyone know who makes those.
Been riding BWS a while. They come with a zipperless compression bag, like for sleeping bags. When I first got them, my initial thought was "cheap buggers don't even give a real bag!". But after getting used to them, I have come to appreciate the simplicity. Zippers are not really needed, just another thing to break. If you need backpack straps, stuff the compression bagged kites into one. My 2 cents.
I bought a Tatonka barrel bag from Getaway outdoors. I bought the second largest one in the pic and it takes loads of gear and can be used with or without the concealable shoulder straps. Its bulletproof and has a 50 year warranty.
I have had a 25 knots double bag for a few years and love it ! Its been on many trips to FIJI and gets used in my kite school all the time. I just bought another one recently and believe they only have a few left in stock. Grab one you won't regret !! BWSurf have a xmas special on their upgrade back packs to $49 EA

Can't go wrong with a Tatonka!! Wish it wasn't so expensive... I might be willing to use it for my kites !!
Gotta say the old slingshot bags are good.
SHOW US YA TATONKA!!
they really do have a 50yr warranty too.
I use mine for all my sailing gear, but I wouldn't put sandy kite gear in it..... That would be stupid!!
Why are your zips clagging out? My kite bags are 5-6 years old and look and work like brand new (Cabrinha bags). I kite lots in all sorts of conditions. What are you doing to your gear to clag it out?
My Cabrinha bag is from 2008! All buggered even with good care. My 2010 is still in good condition just the front pocket one is split and I can't get it back together.
Maybe I get a new Cab bag and fill it also with a new kite
