Hi everyone, Just seeing if anyone can tell me why when I loop my vegas too tightly the one of the steering lines seem to get caught on something halfway through the loop. Always happens when I try to do a decent backroll kiteloop, im usually mid air then it catches something and stalls the loop for a second which usually results in me landing too hard and crashing half the time. at first I thought it was my depower strap so I got that out of the way but still does it. I have a feeling its actually the wingtip bending inwards and popping back out again. Can this be fixed by changing how its setup? Do all Vegas do it? thanks
Don't have this on my 2013 neither 2014 Vegas. Had an older 2012 Vegas but got rid of it as material seemed to have aged becoming weak i.e. popping and jumping etc was difficult due to wingtips pulling in deforming the kite hence it was all softish and gutless. Maybe that wingtip folding you observe is some sort of similar "tired kite" syndrom? Don't see what could otherwise catch? Did you try to fly it with another bar?
Thanks for the replys, haven't checked for any batterns in the tips but I do know they are floppy cos when I sign it hard or turn it wobbles the tips and feels stupid. Pretty sure I'm pumping it hard enough not game to go any harder. I have been using an old 2009 bar don't know if that makes a difference or not. Also I never just do jumps with it as it seems to have no hang time and I go down as fast as I go up.
I think gokid is on to it, most likely under inflated.
using the 09 bar is fine but check for equal line lengths as it can affect hangtime, post up a short video of you jumping if possible
As I was rolling it up today I noticed the wingtip battery aren't even there anymore. The guy I bought it off must have taken them out. So I assume this is the cause?
thanks for all the help, I put some battens in today and tested it out, now I can loop it as hard as i want without it deforming on me.
