Looking for a Kiteboarding beginner in Adelaide SA

I just started to learn kite surfing. I am looking for someone who wants to learn kiting who lives in Adelaide as none of my mates want to do it.

It is easier to learn with someone than on my own as you loose the board a lot when you first start. In addition you need someone to launch and land the bigger kites till you get good at it. With two people we can swap the kite while the other person keeps an eye on the kiter and board ... etc Like an observer till the skill is mastered. I don't really want to pay $$ for someone to walk after me while I do all the work.

I have taken 3 lessons and know what to do so if you are serious about kiting, have taken at least one lesson and have the gear then we can go out together. You can give me a hand as I have all the gear. I will also save you $$ on the extra lessons as they will not be required. I know what needs to be done so it is just a matter of getting out there and doing it as it involves muscle memory. It will be a lot easier learning in pairs which will accelerate the learning process. We will both benefit that way. In addition it will be safer as if the kiter gets into trouble the other person will be able to help them out.

I saw a few new guys use this method (two guys one on the kite and the other helping out). I think it is the best way to learn and there will be less chance of loosing the board or damaging the kite ;-)

So if any of you guys or gals are interested let me know and we will work something out.

Try putting your post in the SAKSA section as you will have more luck in attracting a good response. In the Adelaide area most people learn at the Chicken shop. Milang also has good flat water. Don't go out at Henley until you can stay upwind and if no-one is out there is usually a good reason... ie. wrong wind direction gusty, front coming etc. On a northerly you can go down to the wall at North Haven but practice downwind of everyone and always stay away from other beach users. There are not really any suitable spots down south for beginners. There will be other kiters around if the wind is Ok particularly in summer when the seabreezes hit. It's a good idea to hang out where you see kites and help people launch and land and you will make some friends pretty quickly. You will learn faster if you make some friends who can kite well as they can give you some tips and check you have your gear set up properly. Everyone on the metro beaches are pretty friendly. if you cant kite after 1-2 lessons with a cabrinah, you cant kite at all. Sell them on seabreeze with the other 2000 listed...lol. Or just park it in the nearest tree

You have the right idea But I think a more experienced buddy would be safer if there is no one else around.
Hopefully rpm will help you heaps
By getting down there and launching a few kites you will find most will keep a look out for you,just bring a few beers for when you need help.

Couldnt help but ask the question ............how many years experience do you need to become a kite instructor ..............?????????????????????????? as for kiting 2 to 3 seasons / years i would hardly say you have enough experience to be qualified but hey there is RPL .........oh well doctor PETTEL got his medical degree to.

Enthusiasm to help anyone LEARN some basic skills is a good thing.
