Thought i would post a little update on the fund for mark . with the magical $25K mark almost reached these tickets will push the tally over $25K so please dig deep guys :)
Great work Tim & WAKSA
Heres a chance for everyone who has been on the wrong side of the draw every year.
And a very worthy cause.
Love ur work guys.
In all seriousness Puppet has been v v lucky the last few years, no soft dollar anywhere, truly. He asked me to help, but I said, NO!
The auction is * the * way to get a spot if you have missed out prior. Get bidding for Milo, & thanks, Rottnest Express for donating the 3 spots.
Hey I wasn't suggesting anything untoward,
I was just saying he's ben lucky, could be just rewards for his efforts for the WA & national Kiting community. Zeus has shined on Phil :)
So once the bids are in, then what? Is it a matter of best foot forward, suck it and see, or is there an opportunity to keep upping the bid? Would make sense for tickets to go to the highest bidders if it's money you're trying to raise. But then it could end up a race of the rich, not the keen.
Puppet how come you are always on the right side of the draw??? ![]()
Unbelievable hey - esp for me. Seriously Im definitely the most surprised.
My luck stretches to running the same system 7 lotto pretty much everyweek since 1984.
Never even picked up a booby division pay-out :-( NOT 1 ever.
Back when I was teaching they used to run a chook raffle at every Friday nights in-service debriefing (slush up).
Average of 15 to 20 tickets per week. I was a regular (of course) and I never picked up a chook. NOT 1 ever.
Thats in 7 years !!!! Work out those odds.
Compo there was that the raffle money was put to free drinks for the Xmas break-up - where I invariably drank my share of donations ![]()
Tim is definitely un-bribable. I know Ive tried :-)
I missed the first draw once only to be even luckier in the clean-up draw where they replace the few unfortunate non-starters.
Luv the L2L & super passionate this year. Out to redeem my standing in the community after last years embarrassing mis-adventure.
I know a few lads, who will bid big (1k) so I strongly suggest you do too.
For a great cause.
Wow!
Not much point in my mediocre bid then. ![]()
Good luck to remaining bidders!

LouD he may well have said that to stop people bidding, suggest all ignore and just bid whatever you thought was an appropriate amount and good luck.
Naw Tighlines. I promised my knees and other sore bits that I would never do that to them again
And I don't think I could top it with you and I being the only ones strapless and the first one......I wonder if it is even allowed anymore.
Last years only ticket went for around $350.
Given there are 5 this year. I recon $400 would get you a place.
At the end of the day, you get a race and money gets raised. win win.
Good luck mate and enjoy.....I so remember the first one, what a gas.![]()
Gruezi !!! wheres U bin??
For the record guys my great old mate & learning buddy Gruezi made the supreme sacrifice at the no.1 L2L by performing an heroic board salvage tack to drop my board downwind after a bit of mis-adventure on my part. ![]()
Forever grateful - my hero ![]()
What's going on with the auction?
Supposed to finish at 11pm but when I click on the link to register it says the event is closed..... only 9pm.
I'm gagging for a spot and keen to add another donation.
You can place as many bids as you like, but only your highest bid wins (i.e. on per member) auction is closing at 11pm tonight.
