Thumbs Up

I have a North Rhino 12m - great kite.

In order to kite on light wind days - I brought a North Phantom (Door) - does the job.

However I notice that in winds which are so light my kite backstalls, some kites (recently a cabrinha switchbalde 12m) will still fly and work. So why does the switchblade fly when mine won't. Obviously why some kites fly in light winds while others won't is more complicated than simply kite size - even though I see larger kites also fly when mine won't.

How do you choose a light wind kite? For me - I'm looking for something that will fly in really light winds so I can use my door. If I get something like a 16m Toro (I'm looking cheaper second hand as I won't use this when there is decent wind) will it fly well in light winds? Are there big kites that are useless in light winds?

Any advice welcome.
