Super fun as always got myself a 3rd place behind Dale 1st & Tovar 2nd - and super happy with result as my designed orange slalom board is back to speed & super fun to ride & was very fast in the light wind race - - in the marginal 13 to 15knot winds I used a 19m edge & 30m lines and had a few moments of 25knot board speed in the gusts & was winning from the half way mark to last 500m of race but had a massive brain fade at finish and went to wrong Red bull tent on beach 500m up beach from finish line and after jumping off my race board on beach & had to kite back out to sea and down to finish line - Doh.
Best race after L2L and a great crew of kiters on beach all day. The coarse was well laid out with large boats on very mark and was a pleasure to race.
Thanks heaps to WAKSA lads and all the sponsors.
Congrats to Dale Tovar, Pilot Pete & Alty in top 5 an all the racers today - to much fun ![]()
All of us at the finish line were wondering where you were going, shame about the brain fart as you were miles in front.
Only went round the boats today!
Great day with great people well done to WAKSA and sponsors and well done to all who took part
whoever picked up an ozone bag on the beach after every1 left can they please let me know . 11m edge bag
A great race today. Thanks to WAKSA and the rest of the organisers for a great course this year. I will be back next year for sure
I lost my harness at Lancelin t around 5 pm on Saturday if you found please let me know 0413342046 Raphael
Thanks to WAKSA for a great event
A big thanks to the rescue crew who plucked me to safety after I put my kite in the water couldn't relaunch due to light as wind and then managed to tangle bar & lines around 2 craypot buoys
DOH ( a Darwin award moment). The rescue guys were very professional I was impressed.
Just a thought for next year & I've discussed this with other crew who agree that numbered rashies similar to L2L and/or kite oceanics would make this great event better.
Thanks to all the crew who helped make this a great day. ![]()
Thanks to all involved with the organisation, this race has the potential to get bigger and better every year and I'm sure it will.
I nearly didn't enter this year after the dissapointment of last year but I am glad I did and will be back next year for sure.
I like a lot of others would have liked a few knots more wind and had to work the kite a fair bit there at times but it was still a real enjoayable race.
Being able to easily see the marks made all of the difference and allowed people to use different tactics, some headed out to sea chasing wind and others just tried to follow the shortest course.
Congrats Dale, Torvar, Johnno and everyone else that either raced or helped make it happen, nice effort all round.
Also great the way the results were available live.

wld be fun to race with windies together next year!
They probably don't want to because kiters could beat them..
Well done to event organisers, and thanks to Tim T for access to flares.
was a fun event
