“Land of Lahara”
2 weeks ago some of Australia’s top Kiteboarders were sent out on a kiting expedition to check out the land of the unexpected PAPUA NEW GUINEA. This is the 1st Kite boarding film to be created in Papua New Guinea. Chase Burns, Philip Island surfing film-maker, spent a week on a boat with the kiters and capturing awesome footage of the riding, culture and lifestyle along PNG’s Reefs, Islands and Villages.
We have explored places where nobody has been before and kited in perfect conditions.
It was an unforgettable week with so much fun and excitement.
This is a preview/ teaser of the coming film.
Excellent work guys to get some exposure for PNG kiting, this really will be the next great south pacific location, and it's right on our northern doorstep.
It cops all the consistent trades that blow over Lizard Island and the northern Great Barrier Reef, plus it has excellent flat water spots and great waves and reef passes.
I was at the Duchateau Islets last year (see google earth 11deg 16.573'S 152deg 22.822'E) and the potential of this one place alone was outstanding!

JayP was absolutely ripping it up in the waves this morning. Carving up some big sets with solid 25+ knots. I think that will be the lightest the wind is going to be all day as well.
It was a truly inforgettable trip, from seeing the traditional lifestyle of hula village to massive boosts in perfect 25 knots flat water. Seeing Keahi, Matt, Luke and Ewan Ripping it up in the waves and on the flat was amazing and the food hospitality and company on the boat was perfect, couldnt of asked for anything more. Cant wait to see Land of Lahara in full,

Keahi and Ewan met up with film maker Chase Burns in Melbourne 2 dyas ago to assist choosing the best footage for the film.
Not long to go till DVD is ready to go.
the preview has been featured on heaps of kiting, surfing sites, (hanglos.net, kitemovement, actionsportblips...), twitter.
The riding would need to be better than the preview to be classified as "sick".
