Just thought I'd throw up a post incase anyone hears of someone picking up a Go Pro camera somewhere along our coastline.
The film crew stuck one to the nose of my board for the race on video mode, it was there the whole way until the last 100m from the beach and then disappeared.
The housing part of the mount snapped so it won't be able to be re used anyway.
Hoping someone will find it, plug it in, have a laugh at me swearing a heap, puffing, blowing and other funny antics on the journey and then hand it in somewhere.
The organisers were really bummed it went missing and I'm sure would guarantee someone a spot in next years race as a reward for finding it [unofficial at this stage but I'll make it happen if we can get it back]
Cheers
Marty
Reminds me of this video I came across a while back seems someone lost there go pro at G land and it was later found. ![]()
"fisherman found a GoPro cam last week between the reef and sell it to me, no id inside the cam, and last filming almost 3 month ago, the camera recorded with rolling angle bouncing along reef surface for 1.5 hour, just wanna share the film for 5 min from that footage"
I was thinking about asking Santa for a GoPro...then just in the last 2 days, I've seen this post, and another mate of mine lost his off the helmet mount whilst surfing in Bali. Making me 2nd guess whether or not I want to invest in one.
Thoughts on how secure those mounts really are?
I think if you want to guarantee yourself a spot in next years L2L go and get a stuffed Go Pro and be the first around to MartyFaz's place to claim his race entry position.
new go pro2's come with a floaty backdoor for the surf. i dropped mine yesterday and it floated in the surf no probs. i lost 3 of the old ones and finally stuck a float on the back and now no probs with that. you can also buy the floaty back door for about $20-$25 from seabreeze or your local go pro retailer shop for all the go pro models.
