looks cool.... but news flash. 26km is more like a half marathon. i wouldn't call 26km gruelling. but it surely would be fun.

I did a 35km down winder a week back in house side swell. scary as ****! but fun.

Is there anywhere we can see a map of the course or ones for previous years to get a general idea of the layout, how far offshore, how many turns, what sort of angles across/down wind, that sort of thing.

Tightie i think its the same as the windsurfers marathon course

I've also had a look online but haven't found anything yet, i know the finish is in through south passage.

Yeah I believe it is the same as the windsurfers but just run a day earlier, I know they go around a few boats but imagine it is fairly well downwind most of the way.

I was looking for something even a GPS track from years gone by but couldn't see anything might have to put a post on the windsurfing forum.

Keep an ear out for a change in location for the finish point. I heard a rumour the windsurfing finish may move to North Point...

Your guaranteed a place !!!
Ive done the Poley race a few times - had a great time

"New Finish Line & Event Village

We are pleased to announce a new finish line and Event Village for this years event.

The new finish line will be directly in front of the Lancelin Beach Hotel and further North than in previous years. The course remains the same.

The Event Village will be constructed on the front lawn of the Lancelin Beach Hotel and will feature sponsors tents, a big screen, licensed area, food and plenty of entertainment. You will also be able to register for the event here.

It will be free to attend and will open from Thursday 10th January so come and check out the action, grab a drink and buy a t-shirt or cap.

Saturday Night - will be first in, best dressed - as we are limited to numbers. Priority will be given to all competitors."

Ok I have just entered, it should be fun.
I will be spending a fair bit of time up at Lancelin from 29th of December until this race so if anyone is up there and keen on hooking up for a practice run post on here or PM/txt me.

Very interesting angles of downwind legs, trial run yesterday, but wind was very light. Kiter with a very large North kite smoked the course. Serious training going on. Any time under 40 mins will be very quick. 35 mins should win it. Of course jibing will be challenge esp on long skinny boards. Should be great race, lets hope for good winds.

It is very very downwind with only about half of the markers from the windsurf race (or maybe closer to 1/3)

I hope they release that proposed course today, possibly not what people are expecting compared to the poley's race.
