Hey,

I have been riding for nearly a year now, and yes, I have gone through a few kites. I have flown enough of them to know how a kite should behave and how it should fly. All was good until I bought a 12m 2009 Hifi, and even in 20+ knots, this kite is a ground magnet, this kite seems to "Rack Disipren".

Changed the line lengths etc... no help.

Any help would be great!
Thanks,

Jimbo

Have you fitted the 5th line extension on the bridle?

Yeah, Doesn't matter if it's on 'Freestyle' or 'Freeride' Mode, the kite just isn't acting the way it wants to. Thanks for your help

sorry, misread the question. What is the 5th line extension?

It came separate in a small pastic bag a few inches long, to add on the 5th line at the kite bridle end.

Sounds weird, somethings definately wrong. As Charl says their great kites, i'll PM you someone to contact who has been killing it locally so his 12m HiFi must be dialed in at the moment.

Hey Jimbo

sorry to hear your having trouble with your Hi Fi .

Did you fit the 5th line extension ?

Let me know if it wasn't in the bag and i will send one down for you asap .

I flew it in light wind and it seemed ok but i didn't spend much time on it and i havn't flown any other hi fi's .

Anyone down your way have the same kite to swap bars ect.. to test and compare .

Let me know how you go

cheers

Pete

just in case you haven't already done this, but check the pig tail attachments at the bar (for the back lines)... by default they are attached to the last pig tail, but i moved it closer to the bar (middle ones), and i almost always have it set on full power (i.e. anything below 23-24 knots - meaning at the kite i attach to the pigtail closest to the kite for the back lines... this made the kite keep more consistent tension... i do get couple of drop outs in any given session if i stuff up a jump or get swung forward... but it doesn't bother me as they relaunch like a grasshopper...

Hi Guys,

I have similar troubles with my 12m 09 Hifi (thank god I am not the only one). I am fairly newbie, but I too know how kites should behave.

When you guys say 5th line extension, do you mean this:

as the image states, this is too give you 100% depower...what else would it do?

I also have a 9m 09 hifi and it rocks. I cringe at the thought of having to use my 12m!!!

no it should be a small pigtail that you put on the kites end to make the line length a bit longer.

Yeah, I don't think i have the extension. I have a stretch rope thing about 50cm long, with a plastic knob at the end. Is that it? if not, what is it for? Thanks
