I'm sure it's a common injury, and being windy season I know there's some of you out there that will still kite even injured, I managed to break my middle toe yesterday, any advice on how to strap/secure it to still be able to kite?
I’ve broken my toe twice as a kiter, first time took 8 weeks off second time just wore booties/reef shoes and was fine.
I found that easier and better than taping.
there is two ways of doing it...
1, get your boyfriend to do it
2, stop being so gay
Go see the doctor, he'll misdiagnose your problem and you'll be fine to kite, carefully though he'll make some excuse for you to remove your clothing
some people are born great
some people have greatness thrust into them...
cauncy, take your pants off and bend over...
haha I had a funny injury 8 months ago. hade a gopro mount on my board with the little black leash, and was walking past my board quickly and my big toe slipped into the leash and cause the board was stuck in the mud it didn't move and snaped it to a right angle. 8 months later and its still sore lol. lame story really!!
Broke my little toe walking up a beach after a day's fishing. Swelled up like I had two big toes on my foot... couldn't get it in a shoe so I played tennis in bare feet. Concrete court, of course. That was the second day after breaking it, cos I was so badly sunburned on the first day that I could only just open my eyes, which will explain why I ran into the tree head first that night and took a bunch of skin off my forehead.
How's my gay score?
My basic guide for pain...
"Doctor doctor it hurts when I do this!"
"Then, don't do that."
I lost my big toenail after dropping my board on it. Turned black. It look months to come back and isn't quite there yet. Still went out.
Then recently, I folded over my middle toe launching one day, then it turned black, so I taped it to the other one. (not the big toe) Didn't stop me going out though, and (eventually) healed up well. Cold water, and ice helped.
At that point my foot was like a bucket of smashed crabs.
Doesn't make any difference to healing time, just way more careful now.
