Moving the family to Hong Kong in December and am beginning to stress that Kiting days are few and far between. Any information to the contrary would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Unfortunately I can only tell you what I heard so far about kiting in Hong Kong, which is that the wind is apparently best from March until June. In case you haven't stumbled onto them already, here are two kiting websites for the area.

www.kiteboarding.org.hk/
Hopefully these may help get you hooked up with some locals.

Ive been living in HK for the last 6 years ..... been kiting for the past 2 ..... The winds all over the show here ...... generally the strongest wind is dec /jan but very very gusty ...... spring and autumn we get some good easterlies which are fairly steady . The biggest problem we are having is that there is generally only one beach to go for each direction of wind and the sport is growing like crazy here . Gone from about 10 of us to probably 150 in the last 2 years. Most of them are real beginners that dont speak english and have never spent time in the elements before ..... counted 60 kites on the beach a few days ago ...... Im 90 kgs and ride bandits ..... my 80% kite here is a 15m bandit 1 , 20 % on my bandit dos 10 ....ride an underground flx 135. We are starting to spend more and more time in taiwan on the weekends, less than 2 hrs away and loads of flights everyday . Wind pumps there 2 ! I use my 10 m and 7 m dos' 50/50 . PM me closer to the time and i'll sort you out with all the right peeps in DEC .... I will hopefully be in Cape Town for Dec.
