My job takes me to Fiji every two weeks where i'm super keen to do some kiting. I have looked at the expensive kite resorts and am not really up for that. Does any one have contacts for gear hire around Nadi? Also kite spots close to Nadi? My short stays prevent me from doing anything but day trips.

On another note I have managed to kite in Nauru (very sketchy with lots of rocks) and Phonpei in Micronesia (Epic!). Top of my kiting hit list is Tawara lagoon in Kiribati. This has to be one of the most beautiful places to kite in the world. Sadly I only pass through here and dont get the chance to stop.

Close to Nadi on the west coast is Cloudbreak and Namotu.
Easy beginners waves even when enormous.

The 3.20 mark shows just how easy it is.

Oops, maybe not.

I might upset a few kiters here, but that poley was shredding it and from my perspective looked the best surfing that wave.

BW looked like he was constantly fighting the pull of the kite.

I don't have the skills or the nads to try either approach myself so not saying I could do a better job. But I like the look of that windsurfing.
