Kiting in Bali

Myself and a mate are of to Bali in four weeks.I have heard that wind is not that great and not to take anything smaller thatn a 14.The largest kite i have i a 12m and am 85 kilos.Should i bother taking my gear?

Hi Robb your are a bit early in the season but it"s a lucky dip for wind , take your 12m you might get lucky.

I stayed in Bali last year and only used my 12m one day with a surfboard and it was not really windy enough to stay upwind.
Good tip: Take your kite and harness as on board luggage. You can get the bag pretty small if you take the bar and pump off and tighten the straps. Saved me 13kg in excess fees. I would look into heading across to one of the islands if you want good wind.

leave the kite at home. you'll be lucky if you get one day. There are way better things to do it bali anyway

Wind season started 2 days ago and we had already 2 days of wind...
Wind here is mostly around 12 knots and our 12 knots are weaker then what you get there.
12m and 86 kilos you are not going very far!
You need a powerful 14m.
