Planning a family holiday we love both kiteboarding and wakeboarding
we are looking for a place within a 10 hour drive of melbourne that has fantastic kiteboarding and fantastic wakeboarding within a couple of hours of each other! suggestions?
I assume you have a wake boat? Flush kit? Warrnambool. You can wacky board on the Hopkins river then kite in town, mouth of the river or Logan's Beach. In the past I've surfed at Philip Island then wake boarded at Hazlewood the next day. Otherwise I'm sure there are plenty of options down at Lakes Entrance.

i have a feeling that wakeboarding has been banned at hopkins river at all the town end but if you get down the river a bit maybe?
also been living in warrnambool for the last 8 months and the wind is generally.....S*&t!!!! the summer was good but havent got much sessions in the winter. Been traveling to Melbourne most weekends to kite.
I reckon Phillip Island might be a good one for you. Depends on the kind of kiting you are after. Other options might be down in Lakes Entrance - I've never been out that way myself for a kite, but you have the tidal lakes on the inside and open ocean on the outside.
Wakeboard lakes entrance and kite Marlo, Marlo is epic kiting, you can probably even wakeboard on the snowy river, pretty sure there a boat ramp right near where you kite
Yeah have a wakeboat, mastercraft and we have down lakes entrance and merimbula the last two years, just wondering if there was anywhere even better! But sounds like lakes entrance is the best I'm gonna get!
Marlo at the entrance is the up there with sandy point for best kiting in vic (dead flat water or swell) but it doesn't work with any hint of offshore wind, and you can have your wake board boat going along the same beach (the ramp is 100m from a great pub).
Cape Conran coastal park is just about the cheapest camping anywhere but it's pretty rough if you're not there in Summer.
Eagle Point/ Paynesville is pretty fantastic for wake boarding in the morning and kiting in the afternoon once summer arrives. At Eagle Point the 2 caravan parks overlook the beach and you can keep your boat in the water on their jetties.
good luck making a choice, I know where I'll be once uni holidays start
Yeah that's what we are thinking, paymesville is jus about the best option, if you see us on the water yell out if you want a ride :)
