Hi everyone I'm looking for a great spot to get away for a few days with some mates kitesurfing. I'm thinking Mackay? Does anyone have any good suggestions? I'm on the goldy.

Bowen 200km north of mackay is great. I live here and have kited almost 5 weeks straight now, the afternoon seabreeze just keeps on coming. The don river mouth is where its at with the usual ese seabreeze good on all tides heaps of flat water. Heres a link to our facebook page for some pics and vidoes if your interested.

Bowen and Alva do get a heavier afternoon seabreeze than Mackay.
Mind you if I loved in Bowen I would probably never get to work, plenty of flat water in mackay especially at low tide
